ALL NEW - FastMoto Fantasy Handicap System

We're always looking for ways to make FastMoto Fantasy more competitive, fair, and exciting, and we've just introduced a new and improved handicap system! This ensures a balanced playing field while keeping strategy and unpredictability at the core of the game.

How Does the Handicap System Work?

Every rider is assigned a handicap (HCP) based on their recent performances. This means even mid-pack riders and long shots have a chance to score big points if they exceed expectations!

Key Handicap Rules:

  1. Top 5 riders in the championship - 0 Handicap (HCP) - No adjustment to their finishing position.
  2. All other riders - +HCP is based on their average finish position over recent rounds.
  3. B &C-grade riders (those who rarely make a main event) or injured riders - Default finishing position of 28th when they don't race or make a main event.

What This Means for Scoring

  • The system is now set so that a rider who rides to their handicap scores 17points.
  • A rider who outperforms their handicap that round - Scores 18 points or more.
  • A rider who underperforms their handicap that round - Scores 16 points or less.

This makes it crucial to pick riders wisely-choosing a high-handicap rider who finishes above expectations could be the key to FastMoto wins!

Why the Default 28th Position Rule?

  • If a rider doesn't qualify for the main event or is injured, their finish will automatically be set as 28th place for that round.
  • This keeps their average finish higher, ensuring they maintain a higher handicap that makes them a high-risk, high-reward pick.
  • If a rider starts qualifying for mains more often, their average position will improve, lowering their handicap accordingly.

Example Scenarios:

  • Haiden Deegan (0 HCP) - Finishes 1st = 25pts
  • Jalek Swoll (+3 HCP) - Finishes 6th, but with +3 HCP, he's counted as 3rd place = 20pts
  • B-Grade Rider (+10 HCP) - Finishes 18th, adjusted to 8th place = 13pts
  • Rider Fails to Qualify/Injured (Default 28th Position) - No fantasy points, but keeps a high handicap for future rounds.

What Do You Need to Do?

  1. Check the new handicaps before each round.
  2. Use the data to build smarter teams.
  3. Lock in your picks & chase those leaders down!
