450SX Class Highlights

In a thrilling 450SX Main Event, Cooper Webb (0hcp/25pts) showcased his tenacity by securing his first victory of the season. Webb capitalised on a strong start, closely trailing early leader Aaron Plessinger (+7hcp/32pts) before making decisive moves to claim the top spot. Ken Roczen (0hcp/22pts) demonstrated consistent speed, finishing second and keeping his championship aspirations alive. Chase Sexton (0hcp/20pts) faced early adversity, getting caught in the gate and starting last, but exhibited remarkable resilience by charging through the pack to secure a third-place finish. This podium finish keeps Sexton tied with Webb for the supercross championship lead, each amassing 121 points.

Malcolm Stewart (+6hcp/25pts) continued his strong form, following up his previous victory with a solid fourth-place finish. Justin Cooper (+6hcp/25pts) rounded out the top five, showcasing his growing confidence in the premier class. Notably, Plessinger, after grabbing the holeshot and the 10pt bonus fantasy points and leading the initial laps, couldn't maintain the pace and eventually finished ninth, impacting fantasy players who banked on his early performance.

250SX Class Highlights

The 250SX East Main Event was nothing short of dramatic. Max Anstie (+2hcp/25pts) appeared poised for back-to-back victories, establishing a significant lead early in the race. However, a red flag incident led to a race restart, erasing Anstie's advantage. Seizing the opportunity, Levi Kitchen (0hcp/25pts) displayed exceptional sprint speed, overtaking Anstie in the closing stages to secure his first win of the season. R.J. Hampshire (0hcp/20pts) maintained a strong pace throughout, finishing third and earning valuable points for fantasy teams.

Despite the second-place finish, Anstie retains the red plate, leading the 250SX East Championship standings with 47 points, while Kitchen's victory propels him to second with 38 points. Tom Vialle (0hcp/18pts) and Nate Thrasher (+5hcp) also delivered commendable performances, finishing fourth and fifth respectively, and rewarding fantasy managers who placed their trust in them.

Fantasy Standouts and Surprises

Fantasy leagues experienced significant shake-ups following the Detroit round. Cooper Webb's (0hcp/25pts) victory and Chase Sexton's (0hcp/20pts) impressive comeback ride provided substantial points to their fantasy backers. Levi Kitchen's (0hcp/25pts) unexpected win, especially after the mid-race restart, offered high rewards for those who took a chance on the young rider. Conversely, Aaron Plessinger's (+7hcp/32pts) early lead and subsequent fade to ninth place may have disappointed fantasy players anticipating a podium finish.

In the 250SX class, Max Anstie's (+2hcp/25pts) near-perfect night, disrupted by the red flag, showcased the unpredictability of the sport and its impact on fantasy outcomes. R.J. Hampshire's (+5hcp) consistent podium presence continues to make him a reliable choice for fantasy teams. Carson Mumford (+16hcp/35pts) did his teams proud with a solid result for the night outriding his handicap and scoring the holeshot bonus points.

As the series heads to Arlington for Round 7 and firing back up the West Coast 250 riders, fantasy managers will need to analyse these performances and adjust their strategies accordingly. With championship battles intensifying and riders finding their stride, the upcoming races promise more excitement and opportunities for fantasy enthusiasts to capitalize on emerging talents and shifting dynamics.
